Now hiring: Transload Operator
Liquid Bulk Transload Operator — Yard Only, No CDL, Day Shift
$22–$25/hr to start · Weekly pay · Mon–Fri days
California Transit Services is hiring one full-time Transload Operator for our rail-served yard in City of Industry. You'll move food-grade and industrial liquids between railcars, tank trailers, totes, and drums — all inside our fence, never behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle. Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. W-2 employee, weekly pay, year-round work. No CDL and no prior transloading experience required — we train, and you'll work directly with our Fleet & Terminal Operations Lead.
The work // 01
- Transfer liquid product between railcars and tank trailers, and between totes, drums, and tankers
- Set up, connect, operate, and break down transfer hoses, pumps, fittings, and valves
- Verify railcar seals, product identity, and quantities before and after every transfer
- Complete bills of lading, certificates of analysis, seal logs, and transfer records
- Wash and stage hoses, totes, tools, and fittings; keep food-grade and industrial equipment separate
- Repackage product into IBC totes and drums; label and stage for shipment
- Draw, log, and retain product samples
- Inspect railcars on arrival and release; follow chock, derail, and blue-flag procedures
- Keep the spur, pump area, and equipment clean and ready for the next job
- Light yard and track upkeep — clearing debris, hand digging, basic power tools and small equipment
- Data entry, printing, scanning, and filing of transfer paperwork
- Other duties as assigned in support of terminal and trucking operations
Requirements // 02
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Reliable for a 6:30 AM start, Monday through Friday
- Read, write, and do basic math in English — gauges, labels, bills of lading, gallons-to-pounds conversions
- Follow written safety procedures: lockout/tagout, fall protection, heat illness prevention, and our no-entry rule for railcars and tanks
- Work outdoors year-round, climb railcar and trailer ladders, and handle hoses and fittings (typically 25–50 lb), with or without reasonable accommodation
- Pass a short on-site skills assessment: practical math, document reading, safety judgment, and fitting identification
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Nice to have // 03
- Forklift certification or experience — strongly preferred
- Railcar loading/unloading, bulk liquid transload, tank wash, or liquid terminal experience
- Food-grade, kosher, or GMP handling experience
- Hands-on experience with pumps, camlock fittings, and hose setups
- Comfortable with basic data entry and scanning/printing
- Bilingual English/Spanish
